The SIMS3 HELP PLEASE??!!?

ok, i got the SIMS 3 for my computer. So i put the SIMS 3 disk in the disk drive (on my computer) nothing showed up at all??!! i was on my desktop and everything and nothing showed up at all, the arrow didnt even have the hourglass(to show something was loading) and i dont know what to do??? My mom thought we might need a new Tower(disk drive holder) so whats wrong???
BTW, the Tower is very old!(i think 6 yrs)

i htink your mom is right. just to cover all bases trade the disc for a new one, state your problem see if that fixes it. if that doesnt work you could get an external dvd/cd drive and try that. (im not sure which one is less expensive).
