Medical advice needed. What can anyone tell me about a lump on a penis?

My boyfriend was in the shower yesterday and found a bump about the size of a grape on the shaft of his penis, on the underside, just below the head. We went to rapid care because it was Saturday. While the nurse practitioner wasn't too worried (or professional in his camo get up) he said he felt it was just a "fungal infection" and to was his junk with head and sholders. But just in case it wasn't he gave him a lab slip to check for any std's and a perscription for some antibiotic. but said to not take the antibiotic untill he got the labwork done. No lab near here is open untill Monday. So he doesn't wanna start the perscription.
Today he told me that the lump now goes half way around his penis. I'm worried, I know hes worried.

If by "rapid care", you mean a clinic and not a hospital, then maybe you should consider taking him to an actual emergency room AT an actual hospital.
Not only does the size you describe disturb me, but the speed in which it has grown inside of 24 hours is also very disturbing! If it continues to grow at the same rate, it will be 3 times bigger then it was yesterday by Monday! I have no way to know what it is or whether it is causing any tissue damage, but a emergency room at a hospital will have the resources to figure out what it is and treat it accordingly.
