Sometimes a very strange and out of the ordinary problem will occur on a computer. The problem can be frustrating because nobody seems to know what could have gone wrong. Ask 15 different geeks what they think the problem is and you'll get 30 different answers. When geeks give more than one answer, it means they don't know.
Actually, with some problems it is impossible to know what is wrong just by hearing the problem described. Maybe if you were able to give a very detailed description it would help, but that is not always possible. Such is the case with a disappearing cursor. I've seen it happen and I've see different reasons why. In this article, I will tell you what I've seen cause this problem and hopefully, this will help you get your cursor back.
Of course, you always start troubleshooting any problem by rebooting. With no mouse you'll have to press "CTRL-ESC" and click the arrows up and down and sideways until you get to "restart" on Vista or "shut off computer-restart" on XP. If rebooting doesn't work for you, you'll need to read on.
Optical Mouse
When an optical mouse goes bad, you will be using it and suddenly, the cursor will just drop all the way down to the bottom of the page. You know what an optical mouse is. It is a mouse without a ball. I hope this is your problem. This problem is easy to fix. Just put on a new mouse.
Elusive Trojan
Some virus cleaners aren't capable of getting rid of all types of Trojans. A Trojan is versatile malware script. It has elements of both a virus and spyware. When tracking a problem where a cursor just plain disappears, I would run a top flight spyware cleaner. You can get a free scan. So you can see if a Trojan is present. If so, I would suspect this is why the cursor has disappeared.
This problem, I guess could be another type of spyware, but the few PC's I've seen with this type of problem were caused by a Trojan attack on the dll layer of the operation system. Actually, you don't have to know anything about dll's or layers, just run the spyware scanner. If the computer is really acting up, you may have to go into safe mode with network support to do so.
Of course, after the Trojan is removed, you will have to run a registry cleaner. In fact, if you run a registry cleaner first, you may get rid of the problem, but it will come back. It is the Trojan's corrupting of the registry that makes the mouse disappear. So, however many times you clean the registry, if the Trojan is still running around in the computer, it will come back and corrupt the registry again and there goes the cursor!
New Video Card?
This is a rare one, but I did run across it once. A new video card, though it was Windows XP compatible, was installed in a 2.6GHZ PC with Widows XP home. The problem was, Windows did one of its automatic updates after the manufacture of the video card and its driver. After the card was installed, a driver-operating system mismatch occurred. The video card maker had an upgrade available and the upgraded driver fixed the disappearing cursor problem.
Just because I haven't actually seen it yet, doesn't mean some other kind of driver mismatch couldn't cause such a problem. Probably, it is good idea to have a driver scanner available to prevent such a thing.
In the world of computers, you never know what kind of problem you might run into. Other than having an unusual mouse problem, you should keep viruses and spyware out of your computer; keep the registry clean and the drivers up to date. By doing these things you greatly increase your chances you will never run into a tough, unusual problem. It is fortunate we now have software that will take care of all this.

Maplestory Arrow Blow/Double shot
I was reading some lame FAQ about archers, and the guy was yammering up and down about how arrow blow sucks and Double shot is better, so get double shot.
I don't actually see how it is so much better. he compared it to Magic Claw and Energy Bolt. How's that even the same thing? Energy Bolt does way less damage than a magic claw does. It's one strike doesn't even do 50% more the half of the Magic Claw attack. But Arrow blow (on average, and barring crits coming intot he equation), does more than Double strike does.
Arrow Blow critting, does more than Double Strike critting. The only time Double Strike does more is when both attacks crit. And even then, Arrow Blow actually knocks enemies back (especially important for archers), in many cases where Double Shot would not. In fact, Arrow blow allows you to essentially safely attack a monster twice as buff as anything you could fight with Double Shot (not quite twice as powerful, but close).
So how often do both crit? Well he gave a nice chart. 16% of the time. But 48% of the time you get a crit on Double strike, vs the 40% on Arrow blow. So let's be nice and add those together. 24% of the time, not even 1/4th, Double shot does more damage (and only slightly each time). yet, 76% of the time Arrow Blow does more damage. And 100% of the time, crits or not, Double strike cannot knock and enemy back that Arrow blow can't. Whereas knockback will kick in much more often with Arrow Blow.
So really. . .Why are these lame FAQ people so down on arrow blow? Some people might not want to only kill slimes and green mushrooms until level 40 (I'm dramatizing here, but you see my point).
I geuss that's what FAQs are though. And at least they wrote them to help people. . .so I'm not down on them for that. but saying an attack completely sucls when it clearly doesn't, isn't really that cool
Am I wrong in my assumption on Arrow Blow here? From the evidence I've gathered, that doesn't seem to be the case though.
To be fair, since double shot is s a two-pronged attack, and this game's AC system does not work based on a %, but set number values, a double shot will on average do less damage than an Arrow Blow because the defense value is applied twice.
If one Double shot crits, it is inferior to Arrow blow critting (due to the same reason). Only 16% of the time do both Double shot attacks crit, and on the same note, one of them will crit only 16% more often than Arrow blow would.
Also, even with crits, A single double shot attack will n theory never be better than even a non crit arrow blow (low end damage excluding of course). My argument was that Arrow blow's knockback potential makes it a viable attack, because it allows you to train on buffer monsters from more relative safety even on open ground.
I've seen the math, and Double shot does do overall more damage (24% of the time), but the knockback potential isn't exactly worthless either. However, Arrow blow does more damage than Double shot 76% of the time. It's just a smaller total than Double shot's double crits.

Who designed the original dollar bill?
If that's the case, then why do they denounce the significance of the number 13? The number 13 embodies a key quality for the US, as it appears repeatedly in the Great Seal as well as being the number of original colonies. Throughout the seal the number 13 is used 13 times --- in the number of stars, clouds around the stars, stripes, arrows, leaves and berries in the olive branches, feathers in the tail, layers of stones in the pyramid, number of letters in E Pluribus Unum and Annuit Coeptis. Coincidence? NO.
You are correct.........no coincidence
Take a moment, pull out a one-dollar bill and look at it. The one-dollar bill you’re looking at first came off the presses in 1957 in its present design. This so-called paper money is in fact a cotton and linen blend, with red and blue minute silk fibers running through it. It is actually material. We’ve all washed it without it falling apart. A special blend of ink is used, the contents we will never know. It is overprinted with symbols and then it is starched to make it water resistant and pressed to give it that nice crisp look.
If you look on the front of the bill, you will see the United States Treasury Seal. On the top you will see the scales for balance -- a balanced budget. In the center you have a carpenter’s T-square, a tool used for an even cut. Underneath is the Key to the United States Treasury.
That’s all pretty easy to figure out, but what is on the back of that dollar bill is something we should all know. If you turn the bill over, you will see two circles. Both circles, together, comprise the Great Seal of the United States. The First Continental Congress requested that Benjamin Franklin and a group of men come up with a Seal. It took them four years to accomplish this task and another two years to get it approved.
If you look at the left-hand circle, you will see a Pyramid. Notice the face is lighted and the western side is dark. This country was just beginning. We had not begun to explore the West or decided what we would do for Western Civilization. The Pyramid is uncapped, again signifying that we were not even close to being finished. Inside the capstone you have the all-seeing eye of Ra, an ancient Egyptian symbol for divinity. It was Franklin’s belief that one man couldn’t do it alone, but a group of men, with the help of the Deist’s God (not the Christian God), could do anything.
“IN GOD WE TRUST” is on this currency. It was added by during the anti-communist era in 1957 to distinguish the U.S. from “godless” communism. According to the Supreme Court, the “GOD” is not one of any particular religion, but is representative of every religions’ gods.
Above the pyramid is the Latin “ANNUIT CŒPTIS”, adapted from Vergil’s Aeneid IX:625, means “God (Jupiter) has favored our undertaking.” Below the pyramid the Latin “NOVUS ORDO SECLORUM”, adapted from Vergil’s Eclogues IV:5, means “a new secular order has begun.” Secular, because the United States government is areligious, it endeavors to be disentangled in matters of faith and allow each citizen to follow his or her own reverent devotion. Without interference of the government. Without the exaltation of any particular religion by the government, nor the persecution of any religion by the government. The United States protects the freedom of religion, freedom from religion, and separation of church and state. At the base of the pyramid is the Roman Numeral for 1776.
If you look at the right-hand circle, and check it carefully, you will learn that it is on every National Cemetery in the United States. It is also on the Parade of Flags Walkway at the Bushnell, Florida National Cemetery and is the centerpiece of most hero monuments. Slightly modified, it is the seal of the President of the United States and it is always visible whenever he speaks, yet few know what the symbols mean.
The Bald Eagle was selected as a symbol for victory for two reasons: first, he is not afraid of a storm; he is strong and he is smart enough to soar above it. Secondly, he wears no material crown. We had just broken from the King of England. Also, notice the shield is unsupported. This country can now stand on its own. At the top of that shield you have a white bar signifying congress, a unifying factor. We were coming together as one nation. In the Eagle’s beak you will read the Latin “E PLURIBUS UNUM”, meaning “out of many [people], one [nation].” Above the Eagle you have thirteen shining stars representing the thirteen original colonies, and the clouds of misunderstanding rolling away. Again, we were coming together as one. Notice what the Eagle holds in his talons. He holds an olive branch and arrows. This country wants peace, but we will never be afraid to fight to preserve peace. The Eagle always wants to face the olive branch, but in time of war, his gaze turns toward the arrows.
They say that the number 13 is an unlucky number. This is almost a worldwide belief. You will rarely see a room numbered 13, or any hotels or motels with a 13th floor. But, think about this:
13 original colonies
13 signers of the Declaration of Independence, one from each of the 13 original colonies
13 stripes on our flag, representing the 13 original colonies, red for the blood shed, white for the peace desired
13 steps on the Pyramid, representing the foundation of the 13 original colonies
13 letters in the Latin ANNUIT CŒPTIS (the “Œ” is a two-letter ligature of “OE”), selected on purpose
13 letters in the Latin E PLURIBUS UNUM, selected on purpose
13 stars above the Eagle, representing the 13 original colonies
13 plumes of feathers on each span of the Eagle’s wing, representing the 13 original colonies
13 bars on that shield, representing the 13 original colonies united in defense
13 leaves on the olive branch, representing the 13 original colonies desire for peace
13 fruits, representing the prosperity of the 13 original colonies
13 arrows, if you look closely, representing the united 13 colonies prepared to fight for the common defense
And for minorities: the 13th Amendment.
I“Why don’t you know this?” Your children don’t know this and their history teachers don’t know this. Too may veterans have given up too much, to ever let the meaning fade. Many veterans remember coming home to an America that didn’t care. Too many veterans never came home at all. Tell everyone what is on the back of the one-dollar bill and what it stands for, because nobody else will.
Thank you
Urban archery a growing trend for deer control
Chris Collins is always happy to hear from a homeowner with a deer problem. A 35-year bowhunter from Henrico County, Collins has been involved in urban archery for the past 12. Through word of mouth, he has become a go-to guy for residents in neighborhoods and subdivisions across central Virginia who want deer out of their yards and off their streets.
Thanks for visiting!
