Customer Lead Generation for a New Age
Â
As an internet marketer, you know that growing your list is one of the ways to secure your success and build your profits. Through customer lead generation, people will visit your site and if they don't like what they see, you probably won't ever see them again.
Since you only have a few seconds to capture the attention of a future customer, you have to make each of those seconds count. If you want a chance to send them to more of your content, you will have to convince them to opt-in to your list. While you can catch them in the beginning, you have to provide them with offers of interest on a continuing basis.
The fact of the matter is that people are hesitant to send their hard earned money to someone they don't even know. It is for this reason that you need to make sure your sign-up form is displayed close to the top of your page so it cannot be missed.
Don't Give It Away on the First Date
What you are trying to do is lure them in to bigger and better things, so don't give them everything up front. The first time around you should simply ask for the first name and an email address. When they do sign up, immediately thank them and deliver what was promised.  You could also put just one or two more offers on your thank you page, but don't overdo it. Depending on the mood of the customer, they may check out other offers.Â
Importance of a Squeeze Page
This is where you should spend some time and focus on getting it right. Your squeeze page is the first thing that a potential customer sees and it will be the determining factor in whether or not they opt in to your list.  Here are some tips for creating a squeeze page.
-
Create a catchy title. Your title should reach out and grab them. It has to be something catchy; something that makes them want to read more.
-
Use bullet points for your lists. Bullet points focus on what you want to draw their attention to. Use 5-6 benefits of joining your list. Let them know what they can expect if they sign up. Why should they? What do they get? This is a very important lead generating technique so make it count. Make the benefits stand out and pop. Get them excited.
-
Don't forget the opt-out form. This let's the customer know that if they don't like what they see, they can easily get out with no strings attached.
-
Opt-in form - Make sure that you put your opt-in form in a Johnson box; highlight the borders to draw attention to it. You can even use arrows to point it out.
-
Add video - Here you can thank them for visiting and tell them what the benefits are. Make sure it's a short video because the attention span of most people cannot withstand a long sermon. People who use videos on their squeeze page are three times more likely to get potential customers to opt-in.
Just a few more things to remember to get the most from the lead generation process:
Â
- By offering free reports, products, articles, and giveaways you will increase your opt-in rate.
- Make sure your opt-in form is clearly displayed at the top of your landing page.
- Utilize pay per click and other marketing tools on your squeeze page.
The goal is to not only customer lead generation, but to build a list. The bigger the list, the better your chances are of making a sale and more sales equal more money.

Sims 2 missing neighborhood help?
Last night I was playing a custom neighborhood, I go to play it today and it's missing. Yes I click the arrows on the neighborhood selector, no I did not delete it myself. The neighborhood still shows up in the EA Games folder, but not in the game, tried system restore, it didn't work. Did download some items earlier, but took them out of the folder. Also, my other custom neighborhood still shows up. Help please! I had some really nice houses I want.
As far as I know, the "missing neighborhood" bug can caused by corrupt save games and/or corrupt or missing neighborhood files.
There is a working thread at MTS2 (Mod the Sims 2) which is attempting to find a solution to this known issue. As of yet, no one has come up with a complete resolution for this problem, but this thread does contain a few tips and suggestions that you might want to try in lieu of a "real" resolution.
I highly recommend "packaging" the families that you most want to keep, and saving the file(s) somewhere else on your computer (i.e., your desktop) in case your savegames do get corrupted. It always helps to have a recent backup of your LotCatalog folder (located in the same directory as your Downloads in EA Games/Sims2 directory). I also like to package some of my favorite sims and pets, just in case something goes terribly wrong.
Check MTS2 for more information on this issue. Thread can be found here: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=180053&c=1&ht=0&page=1&pp=25#startcomments
