Bow Hunting In The Wild- Selecting The Right Bow
Every bow hunter should know the importance of selecting the correct bow. It is a matter of personal choice. There is a huge selection of bows available in the market. There are a lot of accessories that suite them. When you go to select your bow, you need to take all those things that you take into consideration while selecting your hunting boots. The bow you select must be durable, easy to use and adequately fit. As is the case with any equipment, quality is the determining factory while selecting a bow.
As there are a range of bows available in the market, try out as many as you can before choosing any. Your bow should feel good when you hold it. Also, your bow should suite your body size. Also, your bow needs to match the style of your shooting. All these factors affect your comfort and accuracy while shooting with a bow. Your bow is an investment through which you can benefit or which can cause you an immense amount of frustration when you are out on the field.
There are a lot of things to take into consideration when you buy a bow. Eye dominance is one of the most important aspects. It plays a vital role in bow selection. Knowing your eye dominance will help you pick either a right-Hand Bow or a left-hand bow. Usually right handed people have dominant right eyes and the same applies for left handed people.
The best way to identify which eye is the dominant eye is by pointing to an object at a distance with both the eyes open. Then close one eye. If your finger still points at the target directly, then the eye that is open is your dominant eye. If your finger does not point at the target directly, then the other eye is the dominant eye. If you find your right eye to be the dominant eye, then you should select a right handed bow, and a left handed bow if your left eye is the dominant one. You can increase your bow accuracy if you do this exercise.
The other factors that need to be taken into consideration while bow selecting are axle to axle length, draw length, brace height and draw weight. The most important aspect, however, is making sure that your bow is from a company that has a good reputation. Select a company that vouches for their product. Also, their customer service should be satisfactory. Try your best to select a bow that comes along with a guarantee. Usually the companies dealing with high end bows offer unlimited lifetime warranty by default.
Make sure that the bow you choose the right one as you need to keep yourself prepared for the hunting season. There are innumerable options available in the market, so invest some time in researching them. A lot of factors determine your bow selection and you need to make sure you have considered them all. Choose your bow after determining whether your right eye is the one that is dominant or your left eye. This improves accuracy to a large extent. Deal only with companies that have a good reputation and offer quality service with a guarantee for the bow. Once you select the bow that is correct for you, there is no way you will not enjoy your hunting experience.

Archery: Left or right-handed bow?
I have recently taken up archery, but I'm having a little trouble with eye dominance vs. hand dominance. I am right-handed, and according to everyone's little tricks to figure out eye dominance, I am also right-eye dominant. The problem is that the eyesight in my right eye is much poorer than in my left eye. I was told that I should use a left-handed bow because that person thought I was left-eye dominant, but now I am unsure. I need to pick one or the other so I can continue practicing. To sum it up: right-handed, right-eye dominant with poor eyesight in that eye.
Deciding to shot right handed or left handed is usually dependent on eye dominance. Now if you are right eye dominate then shooting right handed will be easier to succeed at because you will be able to shoot with both eyes open and that will remove distractions. But since your right eye is weaker you have two choices when it comes to shooting left handed. The first is dependent on if you can close your right eye while being able to keep your left eye open. About twenty percent of archers at my range are now able to close their dominate eye without their other eye closing partially or completely. If you can't close your right eye your other choice is using an eye patch while shooting left handed to cover your right eye. It is important to close the right eye while shooting left handed because the dominate eye will distort your accuracy by making you shoot to the left of your intended target.
Now it will be easier to start with a left handed bow because of your inexperience. You probably haven't built up your archery muscles yet and drawing back the bow left handed will not be as difficult for you, unlike a person who has been shooting right handed for years. Although challenging you can become accurate with both right handed or left handed shooting with practice. I leave you with my best wishes for whichever choice you make and good luck.
