Oasis C Changes – Get Trained with Oasis C Updates
An OASIS-C change is the updated and revised version of the OASIS data set that is the basic requirement for all assessments of Medicare and Medicaid patients accomplished on or after January 1, 2010. The OASIS-C contains a guidance manual and provides specific item-by-item information on the completion of each OASIS-C item; sample pages of clinical record forms for OASIS data time points illustrating how the items can be integrated. It also provides information on OBQI and relevant resources for HHAs, with hyperlinks if available. It also supplies recommendations to ensure accuracy for OASIS data. Therefore, it would be quite helpful if you get OASIS C training. While using OASIS-C one is required to look back over the information related to care at transfer and discharge. The OASIS-C panel members stressed the following items: Not much increase in burden to the agency: There is very little difference in the number of items, except at transfer, in OASIS-C as compared to the previous version of OASIS. No effect on payment: The OASIS items used in the payment algorithm were evaluated to ensure they were not changed in a way that would affect the payment algorithm. The process items are optional: The process measures were added to capture care that can be controlled by home health agencies. Many agencies have already incorporated process measures in their patient care for identification of patients who are at high risk for problems. I need help making up my mind.?
Sadly my mind is pretty much gone at the moment.
I have a homehealth aid degree, but lost five jobs because I couldn't aford to buy smaller degrees such as a CPR, or to get a X ray exam, or a degree in abuse of elders and so on each job wants something.
I will have some money soon and I need a job badly to pay for school and everyday items.
Do you think I should just stay as a homehealth aid and buy the smaller degrees.....even though not many jobs are out there for HHa's?
Or become a CNA because you see a little more job openings for them then HHA's?
Do whatever the hell you think you'll actually enjoy doing.
I also know that the less money you make, the more financial aid and student loans you can qualify for, so enough with the "I can't afford to pay for school" sob story. Get a scholarship, apply for financial aid, get a student loan. Either be miserable or light a fire under your butt and get moving.
