Yes you can buy a Hoyt or Matthews for $700, but that's just the bow. Then you have to spend more on arrows, broadheads, release, rest, sight, etc. I suggest spending time at the local range and talk to other archers there and see if they will let you try their equipment. Or go to a good archery store and try out bows there.
