I made the hole in tube, cut off the tip, now how do I operate the actual metal caulking gun (don't laugh)?

put the tube in the gun, and turn the L-shaped part of the gun so the teeth are facing down. then pull the trigger. you should hear clicking and the caulk will start coming out of the tip. when you need to stop, turn the L-shaped part of the gun to take the pressure off
