Montec G5: The Best Outdoors Pre-Season Broadheads
Montec G5 Outdoors Pre-Season Broadheads
If you have not yet tried to us the Montec G5 Outdoors Pre-Season Broadheads they are definitely worth taking for a spin. They are basically identical to the hunting version of the Montecs which means that when you transition you won't notice the difference and this will improve accuracy when you are hunting game. Accuracy is the most important aspect and using these will help you to see improvement in that area. If you have been in the sport for a long time you will know that it often takes a little time to get acquainted with the hunting tips when the season starts and this can mean that you miss out on some of the game. Nobody wants that.
Getting the practice in before the season starts with the Montec Pre-Season Broadheads will help your shot but it will also be a lot easier on your targets. The blades of your regular Montecs will rip apart a target. This is what they are designed to do and they are very effective. The pre-season version also makes the practice a lot safer.
When you get to hunting season, you can pull out those G5 Montecs and be ready to go. They are a three blade design with a cut-on-contact tip that will give you excellent penetration into your target. For improved penetration you can use a two blade tip, but you will sacrifice some of the ability for tissue damage. This means that you will have less of a blood trail and a less lethal shot. Unless you are an expert tracker, this might not be the best option. The two blade option will give the best accuracy, as there is less surface area. The thing is, if you are an expert tracker then you are also probably a pretty good shot, so there aren't many out there that prefer two blades. Most hunters these days have settled on a three blade system or possibly four blades. The three blade route seems to give the best balance of accuracy, penetration and durability for most hunters. Improvements in technology, particularly that offered by Montec have made them extremely effective.
The Montecs are made of stainless steel and use one-piece construction that makes them unbelievable durable. They have a one and half inch cutting diameter, which will provide you with a devastating wound channel but at the same time are not so big that they will show a marked reduction in accuracy. Getting much bigger than that you will start to see the loss of accuracy.
For my experience, many products out there will give you an adequate degree of penetration. The real difference is the durability and the flight accuracy. I have been very pleased with the performance of the Montecs, and find that they are as durable as anything out there. They are 100% spin tested and provide very accurate flight and excellent planing. Make sure your bow is properly tuned and that your broadheads are properly aligned. This will improve your accuracy and make the experience better for you all around.
