How do you figure out how much pull you need on a compound bow?

Check you state law for hunting weight. Most state require a minimum 45 pound draw weight. Start from there. Using a bow scale connected to your bow string draw your bow and see where the scale peaks out before the let-off. If you can pull and hold this weight comfortably you can try increasing the weight one turn on your limb bolt (top and bottom). Each turn on your limb bolt will increase your bow weight (depending on make and model) 2 to 5 pounds.
