Okay, let's use Fort Bliss as an example. I'm going to guess that your boyfriend is in 11th ADA Brigade and in 3-43 ADA Battalion.

He would wear the 11th ADA Brigade shoulder insignia on his left shoulder. He would wear the 43d ADA Regiment crest on his beret and Class As. (3-43 ADA actually stands for 3rd Battalion, 43rd ADA Regiment). 1-43, 2-43 and 3-43 would all wear the same crest regardless of which brigade they are assigned.
