When it comes to taking logic-defying challenges, Queen have never fought shy: think Hyde Park, Latin America, Live Aid. All these years later, Queen are still living adventurously. Here's the case in point: just weeks ahead of the start of the band's 2008 Queen + Paul Rodgers' The Cosmos Rocks tour the band were approached to help Ukraine's Elena Franchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation reach out to the youth of the country with the message "Don't Let Aids Ruin Your Life". In a country facing the highest rising rate of infection throughout Europe, it is a message which cannot wait. For Queen and Paul Rodgers - already well prepared for a tour opening at Moscow's SCO Arena, it would mean some drastic rethinking. Despite the seeming impossibility of it, Queen + Paul Rodgers made it to Freedom Square for the night of September 12, 2008. Over 350,000 Ukrainians came to see them play and more than 10 million homes watched the show live on television. In all, more than 20 million took part in what the band recall as 'an unforgettable experience: one of those rare things in life you know you will never forget. A meeting in Music, but also a coming together to fight a common enemy'.

Lose your HEAD over this superbly strange soundtrack. The three-disc boxed set that features 21 previously unreleased tracks, outtakes, rarities, and live performances, plus an entire disc containing a rare interview with Jones recorded in 1968 for radio broadcast.
The first disc's bonus tracks present alternate stereo mixes for nearly every song, except "Can You Dig It" which is featured as a rough stereo mix with Tork singing instead of Dolenz, and "Daddy's Song" which is remixed with a section that was never originally used in the film or soundtrack album.
Disc two is dedicated to outtakes and rarities, including mono mixes for every track along with unreleased mono movie mixes for "Can You Dig It" and "Daddy's Song." The unreleased gems include an alternate version of "Ditty Diego", "War Chant," plus, "California, Here It Comes," a song heard briefly in 1969 playing over the credits of The Monkees' television special 33? Revolutions Per Monkee. The disc also includes a rare live set from the Valley Music Hall in Salt Lake City from the spring of 1968. The performances were recorded for the film, but ultimately only one track ("Circle Sky") was used. The unreleased live tracks from this set include the Headquarters-era gems "You Just May Be The One," "Sunny Girlfriend," and "You Told Me."
The final disc contains a rare radio interview with Jones about the album that was issued in 1968 by Colgems as a promotional LP. This material was captured from the original vinyl and adds to the rarity of this collector's item. The disc also includes full tracks and excerpts from the HEAD soundtrack that were interspersed throughout the interview. Deluxe booklet features new liner notes by Andrew Sandoval and Rachel Lichtman highlighted by brand-new interviews with Michael Nesmith and director Bob Rafelson about Head, in addition to dozens of unpublished color photos.

The “Clone Wars” goes back to the original Star Wars film when Obi-Wan Kenobi tells Luke Skywalker that he was once a Jedi knight the same as your father and that they fought together in the Clone Wars. Since that moment fans have been obsessed with what the clone wars were. This new TV series takes place immediately after the events of Star Wars-Episode II: Attack of the Clones. The series follows Obi-Wan Kenobi and his apprentice Anakin Skywalker and introduces us to some new characters such as Ahsoka Tano a girl Jedi knight as well as characters we already know.Product Measures: .94 x 5.63 x 7.06
After an impressive debut season, the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars roars back for a sophomore slate of adventures that tops its predecessor in both action and mythos-related dramatics. Situated in the Star Wars timeline between Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, the 22 episodes center around Anakin Skywalker's promotion to Jedi Knight in an attempt to rally the Jedis in the face of General Grievous's attacks. Joined by Obi-Wan Kenobi, he's sent to the planet Geonosis in pursuit of the villain, only to find its population enslaved--and worse--by the Separatists. The fight for the people of Geonosis is easily the highlight of the series, but secondary story lines offer solid intrigue as well, most notably in the arrival of bounty hunter Cad Bane, whose mission is to find children sensitive to the Force, and the appearance of Boba Fett, who vows to avenge the death of his father by Mace Windu. A rampaging giant monster, scads of political intrigue, and some genuinely impressive battle sequences all add to the enjoyment, but what really elevates season two is its darker tone, as evidenced in "Brain Invaders," where Anakin's torture of a prisoner gives a hint of his future, and the terrifying, zombiefied prisoners of Geonosis. The more serious approach, as well as the lack of comic relief (most notably, no Jar Jar Binks), will undoubtedly please adult Star Wars fans, though younger devotees might be somewhat disturbed by the turn of events; thankfully, there is plentiful action and derring-do to balance out the murkier deeds. Extras include substantive featurettes in which director Dave Filoni and his crew discuss a quartet of episodes, including the Geonosis story line and the influence of Godzilla on their own reptilian menace. There's also a detailed, 68-page booklet filled with character design and the artists' notes. --Paul Gaita

Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure (Three-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo/ Digital Copy + Limited Edition Clutch )

Sharpay Evans (Ashley Tisdale, High School Musical) has never lacked self-confidence, so when a Broadway casting agent sees her perform with her dog Boi and offers to set up an audition in New York, Sharpay assumes she'll immediately succeed as a Broadway star. Her father is skeptical, but Sharpay quickly arranges for a penthouse in New York, sets up an appointment to audition, and convinces her father to give her a month to follow her dreams and achieve success. New York has some surprises in store for the aspiring young actress, starting with a no-pets policy that lands Sharpay and her dog out on the street on their very first day in town. Enter Peyton, a budding filmmaker and the son of Sharpay's mother's college friend, and the realization that it's Boi who's auditioning for a part rather than Sharpay, and Sharpay's dreams quickly begin to unravel. Forced to stoop lower than she could ever have imagined, Sharpay scrambles to salvage some shred of her dreams, but it looks like failure is imminent. Like Sharpay, this film is quite predictable, very pink, and often overdone--but then, that's the whole point--and the target audience of tweens and young teens is sure to find it all quite entertaining. Sharpay will likely never learn humility, but her character does grow during the film as she learns to adapt, to at least take note of the motivations and feelings of those around her, and discovers an unexpected inner strength. Austin Butler gives a strong performance as Peyton, the only real two-dimensional character in the film, and Tisdale is once again frighteningly believable as the self-absorbed Sharpay. Bradley Steven Perry (Good Luck Charlie) and Cameron Goodman (Friends with Benefits) are both adequate in their respective roles, but the rest of the cast is fairly marginal. All formats include several brief doggie bloopers. The Blu-ray two-disc pack includes an "Evolution of Sharpay" featurette with interview footage of Tisdale and an "Austin Cam" segment with backstage and onstage footage shot by Butler. The three-disc limited-edition combo pack offers all the aforementioned features and comes packaged in a pink clutch purse and a tri-fold cardboard sleeve with pictures from the film. Mel Gibson's Oscar-winning 1995 Braveheart is an impassioned epic about William Wallace, the 13th-century Scottish leader of a popular revolt against England's tyrannical Edward I (Patrick McGoohan). Gibson cannily plays Wallace as a man trying to stay out of history's way until events force his hand, an attribute that instantly resonates with several of the actor's best-known roles, especially Mad Max. The subsequent camaraderie and courage Wallace shares in the field with fellow warriors is pure enough and inspiring enough to bring envy to a viewer, and even as things go wrong for Wallace in the second half, the film does not easily cave in to a somber tone. One of the most impressive elements is the originality with which Gibson films battle scenes, featuring hundreds of extras wielding medieval weapons. After Eisenstein's Alexander Nevsky, Orson Welles's Chimes at Midnight, and even Kenneth Branagh's Henry V, you might think there is little new that could be done in creating scenes of ancient combat; yet Gibson does it. --Tom Keogh

Band of Brothers
Sale Price: $36.54

An impressively rigorous, unsentimental, and harrowing look at combat during World War II, Band of Brothers follows a company of airborne infantry--Easy Company--from boot camp through the end of the war. The brutality of training takes the audience by increments to the even greater brutality of the war; Easy Company took part in some of the most difficult battles, including the D-Day invasion of Normandy, the failed invasion of Holland, and the Battle of the Bulge, as well as the liberation of a concentration camp and the capture of Hitler's Eagle's Nest. But what makes these episodes work is not their historical sweep but their emphasis on riveting details (such as the rattle of a plane as the paratroopers wait to leap, or a flower in the buttonhole of a German soldier) and procedures (from military tactics to the workings of bureaucratic hierarchies). The scope of this miniseries (10 episodes, plus an actual documentary filled with interviews with surviving veterans) allows not only a thoroughness impossible in a two-hour movie, but also captures the wide range of responses to the stress and trauma of war--fear, cynicism, cruelty, compassion, and all-encompassing confusion. The result is a realism that makes both simplistic judgments and jingoistic enthusiasm impossible; the things these soldiers had to do are both terrible and understandable, and the psychological price they paid is made clear. The writing, directing, and acting are superb throughout. The cast is largely unknown, emphasizing the team of actors as a whole unit, much like the regiment; Damian Lewis and Ron Livingston play the central roles of two officers with grit and intelligence. Band of Brothers turns a vast historical event into a series of potent personal experiences; it's a deeply engrossing and affecting accomplishment. --Bret Fetzer

Destined for Crate-ness! Boston Pack and Ship Creates Niche With Customized Crates for Smaller Shipments
There’s the old expression “good things come in small packagesâ€. At Boston Pack and Ship, a small load packing and shipping specialist for the past two decades, “good things happen with small shipments. Particularly when it comes to building customized crates for awkward-sized items.
“Most manufacturers ship items in bulk, even if it’s 1,000-lb. item. Very rarely do you see a shipment of one or two pieces. So, when companies have one or two items of that size to be shipped, it requires a customized crate to be built. That’s our forte,†said Joe Fell, co-owner of Boston Pack and Ship.
Building the crate is sometimes only half the job. For larger, more awkward-sized items, an onsite trip is required to measure the piece to be shipped to give a more accurate estimate. In most cases, Boston Pack and Ship’s staff will pick up the item for shipping and bring it back to the warehouse to build the crate.
“We build all our customized crates on site here in our workshop. Many times, the Boston Pack and Ship pick-up crew are the ones building the crate. That can make a big difference because the person building the crate has a better idea of the fragility of the shipment,†adds Fell.
For more fragile items, Boston Pack and Ship employs foam-in-place technology or closed cell foam to keep the item from moving within the crate during shipping. These technologies essentially create a casing for the item being shipped, which can be used again and again should the item need to be re-shipped to multiple locations.
Boston Pack and Ship serves both commercial and residential customers. Products being shipped can range from medical equipment and computer servers to delicate artwork and grandfather clocks. Typically, these items are of high monetary and/or sentimental value with a timely arrival being every bit as important as a safe arrival. Case in point, Boston Pack and Ship built a custom crate for a local artist’s large iron sculpture of an eagle commemorating the crash of Flight 93 on Sept 11.
Boston Pack and Ship offers multiple U.S. shipping options including ground and air delivery to a terminal for pickup or inside delivery. International options include air or ocean with door-to-door or door-to-port delivery. Full declared value is available on both domestic and international shipments. Pick-up of items to be packed and shipped for delivery is made by appointment.
For more information on the breadth of Boston Pack and Ship’s services, you can visit the company Web site at www.bostonpackandship.com. For a free quote on an out-of-state or international move or shipment, please call (800) 400-7204.
