More Info On Rage Broadheads:

Broadheads are available in many different kinds of styles, sizes, and shapes. As there is such as wide choice available it can often be a job in itself deciding on which would best suit your personal requirements. You should understand that some are always thought of as being of good quality while there are also Broadheads that should be avoided by all but absolute beginners.
Purchasing the best Broadheads is essential if you want to guarantee that your hunts are a success. The wrong choice may mean that the animal you have been tracking escapes never to be seen again. It would be a big mistake to compromise on quality by searching for the cheapest designs; you will only end up having major regrets.
There are two main styles available today from most archery stores; these are fixed blade and expandables. The latter feature blades that are actually folded in an upwards position and will expand and open upon impact. A fixed blade Broadhead has no such ability; they are static, but therefore stronger.
It can take some amount of experience in the fields before deciding which type of Broadhead suits your needs. At the end of the day as long as you choose a product of good quality then either style would suffice. But to make the task a little easier check out the breakdown of the advantages and disadvantages of expandable and fixed blades.
To start with let's examine the expandable blades. These are also referred to as mechanical blades. As they are folded up they fly similar to a normal field point as there is not so much drag. Because the actual head of the arrow will be less bulky it can impact the target with greater efficiency through vegetation. Also there is less risk of causing injury to yourself.
The downside to using a mechanical blade is that if you fire the arrow if at an obtuse angle the Broadhead may not open correctly therefore doing less damage to the target. It can happen that an expandable may not open at all which results in many wasted shots, this can be down to moisture, dirt, and similar factors.
If you are going to use a fixed blade then you would not have to worry about the angle or if it is wet or dirty. Also a fixed blade is a lot more straightforward to replace. But the problem with this design is that they are more likely to catch the wind and fly off target. Then there is the greater risk of accidentally slicing your hands when attaching the blades to the arrow shaft.

Quick Kills Assured With Rage Broadheads
The rage broadheads have been cooking up a storm now in the world of bow hunting. They promise fast and assured kills with almost any kind of game. Most hunters are ready to pay the high prices too in return for the performance these rage broadheads provide. So, how do these achieve a quick killing?
No deflection
Regular broadheads always have deflection. This means, that when you fire a shot you can always expect some form of imperfection in the result. No matter how perfectly your shot has been placed, it will never be exactly like you hoped it would shoot. On the other hand, in the case of rage broadheads there is minimal or no deflection. Thus, when you fire a shot you can expect it to fire exactly as planned on target.
Large diameter cuts
The other reason why rage broadheads prove to be so successful at quick killing is because of the large diameter cuts they make on game. As soon as the tip touches the game the blades flip open completely causing a huge cut in the game. This is on account of their special Slipcam rear deployment mechanism which makes this functionality possible. Compare this to the other broadheads which have the exact opposite functionality. The blades of regular broadheads only open up when inside the game which is why the cut is not as big as with rage broadheads. The large cuts made by rage broadheads is almost twice as big compared to conventional broadheads. This leaves a substantial trail of blood and assures an instant killing.
No minimization of kinetic energy
The other good thing about rage broadheads is that they cause no reduction in kinetic energy. Unlike conventional broadheads which lead to a loss in kinetic energy, with rage broadheads there is no loss in energy. The blades slice through the game like a hot knife moves through butter! The movement of the broadheads is precise, smooth and in straight alignment. Even if you are off the mark by some amount, you can still expect these rage broadheads to deliver a decent hit.
No time wastage
Unlike other broadheads which come with rubber bands, the rage broadheads are devoid of them. Instead, it is a ShockLock mechanism, which holds the blades in place. The base of the head has a unique O-ring system that holds the blades in position. The locking of blades is easy and can be performed with one click. With conventional broadheads there is always a risk of losing the rubber bands and then spending time searching for them to fix the blades in place. This can cause unnecessary wastage of time, especially at crucial moments when you are hunting game. You may even lose your precious game because of time lost while hunting for the rubber bands. Thus, with the rage broadheads there is no risk of losing rubber bands or wasting time hunting for these. This also adds to the performance in ensuring quick kills of game

Help me decide which broadhead?
I am beginning bow hunting and i need to ask if fixed broadheads are better for begginers. I know that mechanical broadheads have a larger cutting diameter but less penetration, and fixed broadheads have smaller cutting diameters but more penetration. Which kind is better for a beggining hunter? I have sorta narrowed it down to the muzzy 3 blade broadheads or the rage 3 bladed mechanical. Has anyone shot one or the other or both? Opinions please. Thanks. By the way its for a compound bow with at least a 50# draw wieght.
i just got excited to see this question!!!!! k so first off what kind of game are your hunting? personally i have shot both. i would say the rage broad head shoots much more like a practice tip so if u do alot of practice with Field Tips thats how your shot will fly the fixed broad head is alot cheaper but will often give would a little more knockdown power. as far as penetration they are pretty equal. but a bigger cutting area doesnt really matter. the downsides of the rage broad-head is once u hit something hard with them aka bone or a tree if u miss.. they seem to shatter. with a fixed blade they are much stronger. so for a beginning hunter i would recommend the muzzy 3 blade at a 100 grain. when you bow-hunt u miss the less experience u have the more this seems to happen you miss. so for durability or if you lose arrows the cheaper muzzy seems like the better fit. you get twice as many broad-heads for the same price if not cheaper. also hope your shooting carbon arrows! the only thing u need to know is a good shot with any broadhead will kill the sucker! so knock'em dead. and the best thing for beginning bow hunters is PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!!! good luck hunting
draw weight doesnt matter much! compound bows now are so fast it doesnt matter.
