More Info On Recurve Bows:

Archery is an enjoyable, exciting, and very challenging activity to engage in, either as a hobby or a full time sport. There are, however, certain risks and dangers involved in archery. You can minimize these risks and avoid the accompanying dangers by choosing the right archery equipment for your skill level.
Archery sets for beginners
If you are just starting out with archery, it is best to stick to archery sets that are especially designed for beginners like you. These sets contain archery equipments that are suitable for your skill level so you can avoid harming yourself and others as well.
A basic archery set for beginners would include standard or recurve bows, pointed arrows, target sheets, a quiver, and an arm guard. There are also some sets that include arrow tip protectors and a bow carrying case. High end and more expensive sets sometimes also contain shooting lobes, bow stringers, and bow socks among other accessories.
Arrows and bows included in basic archery sets for beginners are very lightweight. They are usually made with either wood or fiberglass and weigh anywhere between 15 to 18 pounds. The bows, in particular, are sometimes equipped with risers and pin sights to help users improve their accuracy and aim.
Factors to consider
Even among archery sets for beginners, there are still different variations available to different age groups. Beginner sets for younger people are generally lighter than sets designed for adults. When buying your own beginner set, make sure you take your age and body built into consideration. It is advisable that you try carrying the set and using the equipment it contains to test if they suit you. It also recommended that you buy your set only from reputable sports or hobby stores so you can be sure of the quality of the product you are buying.

Question on Recurve bows.?
I've been doing archery for a while and I used compounds... Well I purchased a Recurve and whenever I watch you tube or something, they do a drop swing when they shoot. Is that a technique? Is it recommended? What is it? I'm assuming is allows you to not be able to move the bow when you shoot.. but any ideas?
The basic idea is that any time you flex a muscle, it tends to twitch to some degree and can throw off your aim. Some modern shooters thus postulate that if you keep the entire arm relaxed, you'll have a steadier grip and aim. That means some folks will use an elbow brace, a wrist brace, a wrist strap (so they don't have to close the hand), a Trigger Release etc etc etc. Physically speaking, nothing you do after the arrow leaves the string matters....just like a golf swing once the club hits the ball But semi-skewed logic says that if you *do* practice the "follow through", your pre-release form can be improved, too.
Try it both ways. See how it works for you. Get yourself a wrist strap and try the fall away follow through. Me, I just grip the bow as usual and skip all the "neo-expert" crap. I hit the target just fine.
Archery golf a 'caboose load of fun'
AT OUR LAST meeting, I posed the question, "What the heck is archery golf?" After talking to brothers Drew and Kyle Turner, along with a few other previous participants, I found out.
