More Info On Recurve Wood:

Advanced compound bows feature pulley systems called cams that are found at each end of the bow to pull the strings. As you draw the bow, the cams pull and turn the strings, lessening the amount of force it requires. This makes advanced compound bows easier to use than traditional or recurve bows. Most bows are made up of one riser set in the middle of two limbs, with the cams found at the end of each limb. Risers are usually made from magnesium or aluminum while the limbs may be a combination of fiberglass, laminated wood, plastic, or carbon foam.
Kinds to choose from
Advanced compound bows come in single cam, Hybrid Cam, twin cam, and binary cam variations. Single cams have two wheels: one round known as the idler wheel and the other elliptical called the power-cam. They are easier to use compared to the other kinds and generate less noise, although they can be hard to tune and may have uneven nocking.
Hybrid cams, on the other hand, use two elliptical cams, one known as the power cam and the other the control cam. They offer straighter nocking so they're more accurate and are easy to tune and maintain.
As for twin cams, they have two cams for each limb, which may either be elliptical or round depending on the design. Faster and more accurate, they have the most level nocking around, making them ideal for competitive shooting. In the case of binary cams, they are compound bows with two cams for each limb like the twin cams, except that the cams are arranged to have the top and bottom cams moving in relation to one another. Since the cams move independently of the limb, this takes care of problems like varying string lengths and limb deflection.

Excellent Hoyt Bows For Sale
When it comes to hunting and competitions, many like to use Hoyt bows completely. They're one of the most preferred bows on the market. Competitors using the Hoyt brand have won more competitions than a competing brand. All you really need to do is pick up a bow yourself and you'll see why.
One of the explanations for the success of this brand is its use of spilt limb technology. Split limbs have a number of benefits, including less vibration and the indisputable fact that they're quieter and lighter. As you know, lightness is important when trekking miles through the woods. Likewise, Hoyt's solid limb technology is more robust and durable than its competitors.
What they found was that most solid limb bows began to fail around twenty-five dry fries. It was common to see cracks along the V-groove and where the cam is mounted.
This is not just a claim made by the maker ; it was backed up by controlled tests. Testers revealed that the puny point of the bow is eliminated when the v-groove for mounting the cam is gone.
Also as previously said Hoyt bows have less vibration and this is significant for comfort when shooting repeatedly. This brand has a TEC design that decreases vibration.
Even better yet is the proven fact that Hoyt has many different bow models that will fit any want or need. The 2009 AlphaMax is best for people that shoot compound bows. You have over 20 different compound bows to select from! I can guarantee you that you're going to find at least one that's the perfect fit for you. And, if you prefer to shoot recurve bows, you still have 2 different hunting recurves to make a choice from.
As you can see, Hoyt bows offer shooters many options. If you'd like to reach your true potential, you can't get it wrong with the robust, durable, and well-proven Hoyt brand.

I was wondering what a good draw wieght wood be for large game hunting with a bow and arrow?
I want to either have recurve bow or a long bow. any suggetions would be a big help thatk you!
Although "large game" can -- and has been -- taken with bows of 30 lb draw-weight (or less, on occasion), many states have a minimum draw-weight requirement of AT LEAST 40 pounds. This isn't because of some idea that at least 40 pounds of draw-weight is needed, but because it ensures the bowhunter has enough bow to do the job; far too many people think they are ready to go bowhunting, when they really need more practice (they miss too often...).
The thought that a "heavy" bow of at least 60 lbs is needed is a bunch of hogwash. Use properly placed (this means ACCURATELY placed), properly made matched HUNTING arrows (matched to the bow/archer combination, and made for hunting; hunting arrows should be about 10 grains for every pound of draw, sometimes heavier - 400 grains for a 40 lb bow is a good starting point), with SHARP broadheads, and you won't have to worry about being "underbowed" -- as long as you pay attention to the local regulations where you hunt. So long as your bow is within the local regs, use whatever you are comfortable with.
The only reason I can think of to need a super-heavy bow (over 70 lb draw) or super-light arrow (less than 6 grains/lb draw) is for the over-60-yard shots -- yet the average bowhunting rage is between 20 and 35 yards. Humans have been killing "large game" animals with "molasses slow" Traditional and Primitive equipment for thousands of years, with a great amount of efficiency; it should be far more than obvious that a "super-fast" light-weight hunting arrow with a "flat" trajectory is not quite as important as certain manufacturers would wish us all to believe.
Archery area hits the mark
Watching an arrow fly true evokes special feelings that maybe only an archer can understand. Walking the archery course at the Auburn Sportsman's Club, I passed a number of highly realistic, three-dimensional animal targets set up throughout the forest. They nostalgically sent me back many arrows ago.
