1977 ford f250 proportioning valve repair or cheap replacement?

i have changed everything and have been told the proportioning valve has a pin in it that will slide over and block off a leak i had a brake hose go bad and had to cut it to get it up the drive and into the garage and changed both hoses and now both front brakes lock up if you open the bleeder they release then work good until you start pumping them a few times i have been told you can reset the pin i also read you could buy a part from the dealer that would do away with the valve and they would still work well thank you if you reply

It sounds like you answered your own question. I don't know about resetting the pin. but you should buy a new proportioning valve
