The Diamond Razor's Edge

Help with a compound bow rest?

Now I just bought a 2011 bowtech assassin and it has the hostage rest on it. Well i have shot a few different arrows through it and maid shure that the vanes were correctly lined up with the rest but the arrows still do not shoot correctly. Now I like the fact that it holds the arrow for hunting. But I would like to put a drop away arrow rest on the bow, but is there any brands that hold the arrow when the bow is not fully drawn and which brand is the best for hunting and is a very accurate version because i would like to get into some 3d archery aswell. thanks for any help.
Well see the thing is i bought it brand new from a bow shop, and i remeber them checking to make shure that that it was square and stuff. Well i check the rest and the arrow seems to be hitting the thing holding it up. Thats why i think it is the rest and not those thing i remeber them checking it though and thanks for the help

If there is no contact with your fletching and you are getting bad arrow flight, you may want the archery shop to check the settings on the bow and see if they are correct- Here is what they will check for you

1- center shot
2- nocking point
3- cam timing
4- tiller setting
5- cable clearance between fletching and cable
6- arrow for proper spine weight for draw weight and draw length- the wrong arrow spine can produce poor arrow flight

While a drop away rest is nice, you should make certain the other variables are not causing the bad arrow flight before you invest big bucks in a drop away rest.
