There are thousands upon thousands of children's albums out there, but the one that quietly left its mark with more '70s children than perhaps any other album was this disc. Free to Be...You and Me was a pet project of proud feminist Marlo Thomas (a.k.a. "That Girl"), and it was born--according to the liner notes--by the desire to provide her niece with music "to celebrate who she was and who she could be." Harry Belafonte sings "Parents Are People," ex-football great Rosie Grier offers an incredible, touching melody titled "It's All Right to Cry," and Diana Ross waxes future-positive on "When We Grow Up." A great hour of brain food for young--and not-so-young--children. --Denise Sheppard
The iconic pet project of Marlo Thomas. Features Harry Belafonte, Rosie Grier, Mel Brooks, and Diana Ross.A great hour of brain food for the young—and not-so-young.

Baby Einstein - Baby Van Gogh - World of Colors
Sale Price: $23.59

The Baby Einstein Company's "video board books" were designed as music-focused developmental tools to stimulate babies' brains (prompted by research proving that exposure to classical melodies can improve verbal ability, spatial intelligence, creativity, and memory in youngsters). Now the company is expanding into other art forms, including color and art. The idea remains the same--taking bold, beautiful objects (toys, puppets, nature scenes) and setting them to fun renditions of classical music (their recordings are easily the best in the crowded field of child development). A new puppet--Vincent Van Goat--introduces the six primary colors and associates them with Van Gogh's paintings--"The Starry Night" for blue, "Wheat Fields with Reaper" for yellow. The only misstep is the poetry written and read by creator Julie Aigner-Clark, which is strongly reminiscent of Dr. Seuss's My Many Colored Days. The company suggests the program is for toddlers between the ages of 1 and 4. Harsh sounds between segments--such as balloons popping and tires screeching--will draw the attention of youngsters but will probably render the video inappropriate for babes in arms. The video can be purchased by itself or with a beautifully produced 28-page book featuring Van Gogh's paintings, screen shots from the video, and Clark's poems. The combination set may be the best way to engage 3- and 4-year-olds' interest; they can follow along in the text while watching the video. Music includes "The William Tell Overture," "The Blue Danube," "Bolero," and Brahms's "Lullaby." The video also provides information on the cool toys seen in the ending "Toy Chest" segment. --Doug Thomas

Generally lightens hair up to two levels and easily covers gray. Before You ColorTips for getting readyPamper Your LocksWhen your hair is in top condition, the color will be more predictable, âtakeâ more easily, look more dimensional, and last longer. To get ready for coloring, indulge your hair with a deep-conditioning treatment a few days before you process it. This is especially important if your hair is naturally dry. Conditioner will help protect your locks from chemical damage and will infuse them with softness and healthy shine. Continue with EverPure Sulfate-Free Color Care throughout your color cycle to protect your new shade and to hydrate your locks.Keep Natural Oils InWash your hair the day before, not the day of, coloring. Doing this enables the natural oils in your scalp to act as a buffer when you are applying haircolor or lightener.Know the ChemistryIf you just colored your hair but want to change your look, itâs best to wait at least two weeks before coloring again. This period gives your hair a break from the chemicals and helps prevent damage; it also gives you an opportunity to condition and deep-treat your hair before another application.Henna and HaircolorIf your hair has been colored with henna, itâs best to wait until it grows out completely and is cut off before coloring it with permanent, chemically based haircolor. Applying haircolor over henna-colored hair can produce unpredictable results. Henna is not compatible with chemically based haircolor.Relaxer, Texturizer, or PermIf your hair has been relaxed, texturized, or permed, wait two weeks before applying haircolor again. Also, read the LâOréal product instructions to learn of any cautions or tips.Be PreparedBefore you start, make sure to read and follow all the instructions on product packaging. Perform a skin-allergy test 48 hours before you are planning to apply haircolor, even if youâve never had an allergic reaction to haircolor. New allergies can develop suddenly, without warning. Do a strand test by applying color to a small section of hair before covering your whole head. This will give you an idea of how long to keep on the color mixture in order to achieve your desired results. It will also give you a preview of what your hair will look like.ArticlesColorants & How They WorkAn inside look at the science of haircolorAll permanent and nonpermanent haircolors are made up of two basic ingredients: a developer and colorants. But how do they actually work? Take a crash course on the coloring process and find out how LâOréal formulas give you gorgeous, lasting color.DeveloperThe developer is an oxidizing agent. It activates the colorants and allows them to penetrate the hair cuticle, creating just the right tint. If you are lightening your hair, the developer activates the lighteners as well as the colorants.ColorantsThe colorants are pigments that infuse your hair with color. By reacting with the developer, the colorants are able to separate and coat your locks. All permanent and nonpermanent haircolors can darken and change your tone; however, only permanent colors can also lighten your natural color.ConditionerAll LâOréal haircolors provide you with a deeply nourishing conditioner. These protect the hair from breakage and dullness. They also help seal in your color to make it last. Conditioners are important to boost hairâs manageability while adding shine and bounce to your newly colored strands.Innovations & IngredientsScience Behind the BeautyExcellence Triple Protection System reinforces the internal structure of hair and helps protect from damage for rich, radiant color. The protective Pre-Color Serum helps protect fragile areas of the hair, particularly dry ends, and helps prevent damage. The protective Pro-KeratineTM Color Crème beautifully colors hair with 100% long-lasting gray coverage. The protective Conditioning Treatment deeply conditions and helps protect your hair after and in-between coloring.NOTE: Below is the most comprehensive ingredient list for this product, but please note that ingredients vary by shade. More Info On Sight Tube:

Poisons in general can have both general and systemic effects on the Human. Hence elimination of Poison from the system will need some measures such as Forced alkaline diuresis, the usage of specific antidotes, removal of absorbed poisons and some more.
Gastrointestinal tract: In many cases of ingested poisons, considerable amounts remain in the gastrointestinal tract up to four hours, hence it is absolutely necessary to take appropriate measures for their removal. induction of vomiting is useful in conscious patients. Vomiting is induced by tickling the pharynx, administration of concentrated common salt solution, or 10 ml of 15% tinct. In the case of corrosive poisons highly irritant substances like kerosene, emesis and gastric intubation are contraindicated. Gastric lavage by using a stomach tube is an effective method to empty gastric contents rapidly and this can be done even in unwilling patients. This is the method of choice in all conscious patients who have consumed noncorrosive poisons. However, it is risky in comatose patients due to the danger of aspiration into the respiratory tract and in such cases aspiration through Ryle's tube is preferable. Gastric contents should be preserved in a sealed bottle for chemical examination and further medicolegal procedures. Use of activated charcoal which absorbs many toxins reduces gastric absorption further. Purgatives such as magsulph, 15g orally followed by bowel wash 2 hours later help in eliminating the poison from the intestine.
Removal of absorbed poisons: Forced alkaline diuresis enhances the renal excretion of many poisons. Hemodialysis helps to eliminate many water soluble substances. Phenobarbitone, glutethimide, salicylates, amphetamine, tricyclic antidepressants, methaqualone, and heavy metals can be eliminated in various amounts.
Forced alkaline diuresis: The kidneys can be made to eliminate poisonous drugs at a rate consistent with the urine output. Alkalinisation of the body fluids helps in mobilizing the drug and increase excretion. Some drugs like barbiturates have antidiuretic properties and this effect is counteracted by forced diuresis. In an unconscious patient a Foley's catheter should be introduced to facilitate uninterrupted flow and for proper monitoring. Normal saline is given intravenously continuously (1000 ml over 4 hours) and 20 mg furosemide is given intravenously followed by 100 ml 7.5% sodium bicarbonate. Furosemide and sodium bicardonate are repeated in the same dosage every 4 hours. In addition, 20% mannitol 300 ml is given intravenously every 6 hours. By this method urine output can be increased to 6-10 liters in 24 hours. The pH of the urine and blood should be determined and the dose of sodium bicarbonate adjusted to keep them alkaline. Though the danger of pulmonary edema is rare, this should be watched for. Since hypokalemia may occur, 1g of potassium chloride (10%-10 ml) should be added to every liter of fluid. The serum electrolytes are monitored repeatedly to maintain the fluid and electrolytes at normal level. The diuresis is continued till the patient becomes conscious and the blood level of the drug is reduced to safe limits.
Since most of the cases recover with forced alkaline diuresis, hemodialysis is indicated only in a few. Indication for hemodialysis are:
1. high blood levels of the drug,
2. renal failure, and
3. non-responsiveness to forced diuresis.
In the absence of facilities for hemodialysis, paritoneal dialysis should be undertaken.
Specific antidotes: Antidotes are available for various poisonous substances. These may be chemical antidotes which neutralize the action of the poison or biological antidotes which prevent their pharmacological response. They should be employed only after ascertaining the nature of the poison. In most cases, the antidote is indicated by the manufacturers on the packing of the toxic chemical. Many of the patients with suicidal poisoning attempt to repeat these episodes because of their basic psychiatric problems. Hence, it is necessary to instruct their relatives and also arrange for proper psychiatric treatment after the initial episode is treated.

Recovery in Sight for the Manufacturing Sector
Indian SMEs in the manufacturing sector have suffered heavy losses in the last financial year as a result of recessionary pressures and the deceleration of the industrial sector. However, the overall outlook for the current financial year seems positive.
Industry experts are of the opinion that government initiatives that have been introduced to revive demand in the manufacturing industry might yield good results. These initiatives may help the sector gain a steady momentum by the first quarter of the current financial year.
Grim 2008-09 for the manufacturing sector
In 2008-09, the manufacturing sector reported a drop in growth rates due to the slowdown in industry verticals that are dependent on the sector. This year, over 78% of the manufacturing segments slipped into the negative growth zone.
Several small industrial units engaged in production of auto components, rubber footwear, polymer, pig iron, motor starters and auto cycle tubes were severely affected.
As Deepak Bhatnagar, Director, National Packaging Company, a Bengaluru-based SME, says, “Last financial year was one of the worst years that the manufacturing sector has seen so far. Given last year’s challenging market conditions, a rapid resurgence seems unlikely during the current financial year as well.”
Industry bodies hopeful about revival
However, industry experts predict that the manufacturing sector may pick up in the current quarter resulting from an increase in demand for industrial goods in some segments.
According to a recently conducted manufacturing survey by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), the manufacturing sector is expected to revive in the current quarter. The survey findings revealed that a majority of the manufacturing units will record a healthy growth rate in the April-June quarter as compared to the corresponding period a year-ago. The rise in growth rate of small industrial units is expected to push the manufacturing sector towards the positive zone.
According to Anish Kapoor, Director, DTool Connexion, “Though the demand has started picking up, it is too soon to expect a complete market recovery. By June, however, we anticipate a greater off-take of industrial goods.”
With predictions of a market recovery likely, the industrial units may soon recover from their current dilemma.
