How to get thinner toned arms
Who can blame us for being concerned with every aspect of our appearance when we think of the media age we live in. It seems that not a week goes by with out a new body part being picked upon by magazine journalists and internet bloggers to scrutinise. Staying one step ahead in the body wars arms race has never been more complicated. When we consider the amount of conflicting information there is out there about staying thin and healthy who can blame us for being confused about what to do at the moment. A lot of us turn towards the glamour, glitz and beauty of celebrities for guidance on these things.
Thanks to the super toned limbs of celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker and Madonna thin arms are the ‘in thing’ at the moment. Previously toned legs and bums were the in thing to show off but now people seem to be particularly concerned about having a pair of bingo wings on display. This is due in no small part to the increasing awareness individuals are taking in every aspect of their bodies.
Of course having thin and toned arms does carry with them a lot of advantages. It gives an impression of youth and vitality. They also provide the rest of the body with a sense of proportion. Thin arms carry an outfit and give your body that ‘coat hanger’ effect when to comes to wearing clothes.
Sadly a quick glance over the internet shows a staggering amount of misinformation out there. There are many so called experts who quite frankly have little understanding about how the body works when it comes to thinning and gaining definition. The upshot of this is that there are many women out there who become disillusioned when after following a advice that leads to no where.
The most common of these misconceptions is that endless spot training will reduce the fat on the arms. In case you do not know spot training means performing endless exercise on one body part in order to lose the fat that is on there. While spot training has its place and should be incorporated relying on it solely to get thinner arms is an exercise in futility The problem is that this form of training is pretty useless for losing weight. Basically, it is an ineffective method and a waste of energy. However before you give up hope all together do not despair, there are some things you can do to reduce the fat on your arms and lose the bingo wings.
What is necessary is a more holistic approach. The way to get toned and thinner arms needs a 60/40 spilt of muscle growth and cardio weight loss. Exercises such as jogging and cross training are one way. You may also want to consider incorporating swimming into your routine at some stage. Not only is swimming ideal cardio exercise it is also excellent at providing shape and definition to the arms. Bare in mind though that individual metabolism and genetics also play a part in your overall body shape. I am sorry to say this but some people are naturally built to have thinner arms than others and there is not much that can be done about that.
Many people say that if you want to tone your arms you need to use light weights with lots of reps. I personally don’t understand why anyone would do this!
My reasons for saying this is because we use heavy weights and low reps when we want to build muscle. Toning your arms is no different, you want to build muscle so that it is more visible once you lose the fat that is covering it.
However, if you want thin arms then you might want to decrease the weight a little bit so as to avoid excess size and to allow for a cardio type of weight workout; that is to boost your heart rate and metabolism.
We spoke about spot exercises earlier and while they may not be good for losing weight don’t forget to use them in the toning and shaping of your arms. A lot of people forget that their arms are made of up of more than just the bicep muscle group. Remember that you want to ensure that you pay equal emphasis to both your biceps AND your triceps. At the same time, don’t neglect your other body parts and they all play a role in adding overall muscle mass to your body. Finally take a look at what you are eating, make sure your diet involves lean non processed meats like fresh chicken breast and fish and plenty of greens.

What point of view is the poem "Where I'm From" written in???
Where I'm From
I am from clothespins,
from Clorox and carbon-tetrachloride.
I am from the dirt under the back porch.
(Black, glistening,
it tasted like beets.)
I am from the forsythia bush
the Dutch elm
whose long-gone limbs I remember
as if they were my own.
I'm from fudge and eyeglasses,
from Imogene and Alafair.
I'm from the know-it-alls
and the pass-it-ons,
from Perk up! and Pipe down!
I'm from He restoreth my soul
with a cottonball lamb
and ten verses I can say myself.
I'm from Artemus and Billie's Branch,
fried corn and strong coffee.
From the finger my grandfather lost
to the auger,
the eye my father shut to keep his sight.
Under my bed was a dress box
spilling old pictures,
a sift of lost faces
to drift beneath my dreams.
I am from those moments--
snapped before I budded --
leaf-fall from the family tree.

Path of recuperation: Whipple man in good spirits after paralyzing accident
A year ago Whipple resident Bill Beck would no doubt have been fishing or planning for a whitewater rafting trip in the mountains of West Virginia. "I like to hunt, fish, boat, kayak - if I wasn't at work I was always doing something outdoors," Bill, 28, said, adding that he bagged three deer while bow hunting last year.
