did i break a blood vessel?

during volleyball practice today, i was practicing my hitting with this other girl. and when i looked at my left wrist, one of the vanes was popping out. and then it got really swollen. and then it went from reddish to purple-blueish kind of. it only hurted a little though when i pressed on it. my coach said i probably broke a blood vessel or something. do you think i did? and if so, what should i do for it? (i've already put it under ice.) and how will that broken blood vessel effect my wrist in the future? i'm a little worried. i need answers please!

Yeah it def sounds like a broken blood vessel, as well as probably some busted capillaries just from hitting that volleyball so much. You could have very well just hit a bad spot on your arm a few too many times. It shouldnt effect your playing in the future at all. It will heal on itself all in good time.
