Bondi and Coogee are exciting locations for the secret voyeur in all of us to people watch, as these beach locations seem to attract the genetically blessed. Australian and international celebrities are often spotted in trendy Bondi cafe's. There is a diverse blend of people ranging from the rich and famous through to backpackers, holiday makers, and from every possible country imaginable. Pubs and bars are brimming with activity by day and is a great way to chat to some of the many singles visiting from overseas. How can I compare my old computer speeds with the ones currently being sold?
Is there anyway I can compare the clockspeed of an old P3 processor, (running at 2.4Ghz) with todays far more efficient dual core? I don't think it can be as simple as saying a dual-core 2.4Ghz processor is twice as fast as a single core 2.4Ghz processor. Right?
I'm a little old-fashioned. I would like a single benchmark number I can wrap my head around, much like the old P2, P3, P4 chip classifications instead of "Itanium, Centrino, and 75 different types of Pentium M". That is just confusing as all heck.
it's probably our problem when it comes to knowing how much the cpu's are revving up, moorse law proves stated that its power will double every 18 months i think that's the reason why it keeps on doubling.
well going back to your question, actually there are a lot of benchmarking software around, you can google or you can try the sandra benchmark, or mark, as well as performance tuning and many more,
there are a lot of ways you can boldly determine the clockspeed of the cpu,
1. the bios values
2. startup information (POST)
3. my computer properties
4. overclocking features.
fyi:
1. bios values are directly injected into the hardware which means to say they are directly returning the real values of the hardware.
2. startup information (POST) returns by boot up the values of the cpu (speed, multiplier etc..)
3. in windows gui environment,
4. if overclocking features are available, then cpu horsepower is also available.
i would fairly say, these values will variate especially for #'s 2-4, because if you apply changes somewhere like in the bios the default values will be replaced thus default is overwritten.
you should also take note that each cpu can work more than its expectations, you should take note that cpu's promised speed printed on its manuals are just their running clock (default) but they can be changed but beware because overclocking them nullifies its warranties and voids its supports.
good luck!!!
