How do I keep my horse sound????

I'm competing in the childrens jumpers 3'3" and eq at that height so i NEED my horse to stay sound! He is slightly older so i am bery conerned. What extra things can I do to help him stay sound? Standing wraps etc..?

stall wraps are good but not necesary. If you havn't beenusing them up to this point then it should make a huge diference. Using a liniment at the end of the day is good. just put some in your hand and rud down his lower legs vigorously. making sure he gets all of his suplements is good also. but other than that, you can't garantee he wont go lame. could get kicked, could get trimmed wrong. stuff like that happens. But if he's healthy and hasn't been unsound in the past then I wouldn't worry about it too too much.
